Bonnee’s effervescent personality and genuine humbleness simply radiates. Beautiful, bright and full of energy, Bonnee perfectly personifies her self-love philosophy that loving and treasuring yourself is essential to happiness. Growing up in an organic home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches instilled positive beliefs and nurturing habits that have followed Bonnee into adult life. When it came to love, Aristotle believed that self-love was the precondition for loving others. Aside from the convoluted connotations of narcissism and selfishness that this implies, Bonnee reassures us that personal love is the ability to treasure whom you are as a person and accept, respect and honour yourself. “I want my clients to know that their body is beautiful and strong just the way it is. Give it love and praise.”

We become all too easily transfixed on appearances and losing weight leading up to the day to fit in to our perfect hand made couture gown, without considering the implications of what makes us feel healthy and happy. We place sky high expectations on ourselves to change in record time and quickly forget that the whole semblance of the day is simply a celebration of the love shared between two people. Keep the bathroom scales at arms length, forgo impossible time constrains and external rules of dieting and use this opportunity to lay the foundations of happiness and health for the future.

Though it’s hard to believe, we’re told Bonnee’s unshakeable sense of self didn’t just transpire overnight. Instead, it took her a while to accept that she was never going to be “everything for everyone”, and it’s this exact reason why we adore her.

“So many men and women go through life hating their body. I know, because I was one of them.  As a model I struggled with insecurity, bullying and rejection. As soon as I began looking at my body in a positive light, it healed itself. I nourished my body with love and care and in turn, the excess weight and anxiety dropped off.”

Bonnee’s four steps to self love and self nourishment are simple and achievable and all begin by listening to your body rather than the voices in your head.

Step one: Forget about the checklist. Instead, focus your energy on making positive changes on a daily basis for natural, long-term results. “Feeding your mind with positivity is just as important as feeding your body with healthy foods. Being healthy is more about self love, rather than doing everything right on the checklist.”

In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, Bonnee focuses on self nourishment and healing to align the body and mind.

“I tackle the mind-body connection, that is the real secret to weight loss success. Negative self image and emotions can sabotage even the strictest diet.”

Step two:  Start each meal with raw greens. Avoid digesting too much acidic food and keep your body in good health by increasing your regular intake of alkaline plant based foods. According to Bonnee, “Greens are amongst our strongest beauty weapon. A diet which consists of organic, earth loving antioxidant rich foods aid digestion and helps to assimilate the nutrients within the food.”

“The enzymes from plants speed up detoxification and weight loss. The powerful alkalinity found in greens also helps to root out poison the more we consume them.”

Step three: Water, water and more water. “The body uses water to neutralize acids, dilute excess acid and literally wash all the toxins out of the body. Without enough water your body becomes acidic and goes into preservation fat-storing mode.”

Step four: Don’t ‘forbid’ certain foods. “Understanding what is good for us is the ultimate way to staying healthy and glowing, without depriving ourselves,” Bonnee says.

The journey towards becoming the best version of your self for your wedding day could also be the first step to making lasting health and lifestyle choices. Say hello to beauty glow, energy longevity and ultimate well being!
