Marilù and Nicola’s Sicilian fairytale wedding was located at the sea side venue of Tonnara di Marzamemi in Sicily, adorning historic rich buildings with shades of Persian blue and delicate tones of white, it is hard to come across a venue more romantic and picturesque.
Inside the rustic chapel where the ceremony took place lay Persian carpets, ancient books, rich olive trees, candelabras and Marilù’s grandmother’s crochet blankets used as table cloths. Marilù and Nicola always dreamed of being married in Sicily by the sea and this venue proved nothing short of perfect.
Marilù’s wedding dress was created by the Sicilian designer Marella Ferrera, with a vision for the design to evoke the feeling and charm of Sicily. The starting point of inspiration being an old blanket embroidered with a “tombolo” lace, the texture of this lace reminding Marilù of fishermen’s nets, that would blend perfectly with the wedding location.
The couple danced into the night with close family and friends, to the melodies of local musician Marco Salvaggio. It was an Italian fairytale, that celebrated the couples love for each other and for life itself.
